Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

A quick and easy pasta dish featuring spaghetti tossed in olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 4 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden.
  3. Add the red pepper flakes and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the skillet. Add reserved pasta water as needed. Mix well.
  5. Season with salt and sprinkle chopped parsley on top. Serve hot with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or garlic bread. For extra flavor, drizzle more olive oil on top.
