A delightful twist on traditional brownies, Apple Brownies combine the sweetness of apples, the crunch of pecans, and warm cinnamon spice for an irresistible dessert.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups diced apples
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and stir until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the diced apples and chopped pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Dust with powdered sugar for an elegant touch.
