Moist and warmly spiced apple brownies, studded with tender apple pieces and crunchy pecans—a perfect cozy dessert.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups diced apples (about 1 large or 2 small apples)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and stir in brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in diced apples and chopped pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
