Classic chocolate chip cookies with soft centers and chewy edges, perfect for sharing or enjoying solo.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until fully combined.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden and cookies are a little soft in the center.
  9. Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure your butter is at room temperature for best results. Chill the dough for thicker cookies.
