  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot, sauté until they are soft.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the kidney beans, black beans, and diced tomatoes.
  5. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat, cover, and cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients and adjust spices to your preference. Letting the chili sit for a day improves the flavor.
