Brownie Base
1 ¼ cups unsalted butter, melted
1 ½ cups packed light brown sugar
1 cup white granulated sugar
4 large eggs, at room temperature
2 tablespoons cherry syrup
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 ½ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ cup chocolate chunks or chips (optional)
Cherry Swirl Sauce
Fresh or frozen cherries (pitted)
A splash of cherry syrup
Sugar to taste
Cornstarch mixed with cold water

1. Combine cherries, cherry syrup, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until soft and syrupy. Stir in cornstarch slurry until thick. Cool completely.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix butter and sugars until glossy.
3. Whisk in each egg individually until fully combined. Add cherry syrup and vanilla.
4. Fold in cocoa, flour, and salt just until incorporated. Fold in chocolate chunks.
5. Line and grease a baking pan. Spread batter evenly and swirl in cherry sauce.
6. Bake for 30–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
7. Cool in the pan. Lift with parchment. Slice and top with whipped cream, cherries, and syrup.
Bake closer to 30 minutes for extra fudgy texture.
Frozen cherries are fine. Thaw and drain first.
They taste even better the next day after resting overnight.
