Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies are a delightful twist on the classic cookie with rich, nutty flavor and gooey chocolate in every bite.

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the brown butter and sugars until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and chunks.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For the best flavor, watch the butter closely while browning to avoid burning. Don’t overmix the dough to keep cookies soft and chewy.
