Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (18-ounce) box fudge brownie mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons (6 ounces) sweetened condensed milk, divided
  • 11 ounces Caramel Bits or wrapped caramels
  • Chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×9-inch baking dish with foil and spray with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the brownie mix, water, oil, and eggs until combined. Add 2 tablespoons of condensed milk and any chocolate chips, if using.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramel bits and the remaining 1/2 cup of condensed milk. Microwave for 1 minute, stir, and microwave for an additional 15 to 30 seconds if needed, until smooth.
  4. Spread half the brownie batter into the baking dish. Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the top. Add the remaining brownie batter and spread it out evenly.
