Deliciously classic chocolate chip cookies, warm and chewy with melted chocolate oozing from the sides.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (160g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer for about 2 minutes until creamy and smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is incorporated before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed just until combined to avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed.
  7. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes, until golden brown edges form and centers are set but still soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 2 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
