Canned cinnamon rolls transformed into a custardy, golden-brown breakfast casserole, perfect for special mornings.

  • 1 can (8-12 oz) cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • Icing from the cinnamon roll can (or homemade glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  2. Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters and arrange the pieces in the dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces, ensuring they soak.
  5. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. Let sit for 5 minutes. Drizzle the icing over the warm bake before serving.

Notes

Dairy-free option available using plant-based milk and icing. The dish can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning.
