A delightful treat that combines the flavors of cinnamon and fresh apples in a soft, sweet loaf.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. Beat white sugar and butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Stir until smooth.
  5. Pour half the batter into the pan. Layer with half of the apples and brown sugar/cinnamon mixture. Repeat layers.
  6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar and milk for the glaze; drizzle over cooled bread. Enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best flavor. Wrap the bread in plastic wrap or store it in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
