Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

Deliciously soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies that are perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake until the edges are golden, about 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm with milk or coffee. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
