A straightforward and comforting banana bread recipe that’s moist and flavorful, perfect for breakfast or a delightful snack.

  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup nuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and pinch of salt.
  5. Add the sugar and beaten egg, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly.
  6. Gradually fold in the flour until just incorporated. Add nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top gently.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for optimal moisture and flavor. Don’t overmix the batter after adding flour to keep the bread light and fluffy.
