A comforting casserole combining ground beef, caramelized onions, creamy mushroom soup, egg noodles, and cheese, perfect for family dinners or potlucks.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups egg noodles, uncooked
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or Gruyère)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until browned.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup and beef broth together.
  5. In a greased baking dish, combine the cooked beef and onion mixture with uncooked egg noodles. Pour the soup mixture over it.
  6. Stir everything together and spread evenly.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For the best flavor, caramelize the onions slowly. You can substitute different cheeses or add sautéed vegetables for extra nutrition.
