Delicious tacos featuring marinated chicken wrapped in crispy wonton wrappers, perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (divided)
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cups coleslaw mix (cabbage and carrots)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken with teriyaki sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Allow it to marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until done, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix the coleslaw mix, thinly sliced green onions, rice vinegar, honey, and the remaining sesame oil.
  4. In a frying pan, heat oil and lightly fry the wonton wrappers for 20 to 30 seconds on each side until crispy.
  5. Once the wonton wrappers are ready, fill each with chicken and the coleslaw mixture. Drizzle with sweet chili sauce.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize by using store-bought coleslaw or swapping proteins like tofu for a vegetarian twist. For leftovers, store chicken and wrappers separately.
