A quick and easy honey garlic glazed salmon recipe that delivers restaurant-quality flavor in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on), about 6 ounces each
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper. Mince the garlic and chop green onions. Measure the honey and soy sauce so everything is ready to go.
  2. Make the honey garlic glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Sear the salmon: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. When the oil shimmers, place the salmon skin-side down. Press gently for the first 10 seconds. Cook skin-side down for 4 to 5 minutes, until the skin is deep golden.
  4. Glaze and finish cooking: Flip the fillets and spoon the honey garlic glaze evenly over the tops. Reduce the heat to medium and let the glaze bubble and thicken for 1 to 2 minutes while the salmon finishes cooking (about 2 to 3 more minutes for medium doneness).
  5. Serve and garnish: Transfer the salmon to plates and let it rest for a minute. Sprinkle chopped green onions over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

You can reduce sweetness by using less honey or balance with rice vinegar. For higher smoke points, consider avocado or light olive oil. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
