Indulgent mini sandwiches stacked with roast beef, caramelized onions, and Swiss cheese on soft slider buns, perfect for gatherings or game nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Slider buns (dinner rolls work well)
  • Thinly sliced roast beef (deli-style or leftover roast)
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • Swiss cheese slices, torn or cut to fit sliders
  • Au jus for dipping (store-bought or homemade)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Unsalted butter, melted, for brushing tops

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat a skillet over medium and add a little oil or butter with the sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 20 to 25 minutes. Season with salt.
  3. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  4. Layer the roast beef over the buns and add caramelized onions on top.
  5. Cover with Swiss cheese and place the top halves back on.
  6. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the cheese melts and the buns are golden. Optionally broil for 30 to 60 seconds for crispiness.
  8. Warm the au jus and serve the sliders hot with bowls for dipping.

Notes

For a softer top, use melted butter. For richer au jus, reduce beef broth with Worcestershire sauce and any available beef drippings.
