A hearty and comforting one-dish meal combining ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onions and garlic. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large casserole dish, layer sliced potatoes on the bottom.
  4. Add the cooked ground beef mixture on top of the potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour beef broth over the layers.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, sprinkle cheese and fried onions on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding your favorite vegetables like carrots or bell peppers. Can also swap ground beef for turkey or chicken.
