Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cooked rice
  • Sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned.
  2. If there’s excess grease, drain it out.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and let it cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook this mixture for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Serve the beef over warm cooked rice and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

To elevate your meal, serve it with toasted sesame seeds and a side of steamed broccoli or sautéed bok choy. For interactive dining, set up a toppings bar with pickled vegetables or a fried egg.
