  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the cake mix with melted butter and eggs until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and set.
  7. Cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use gluten-free cake mix for a gluten-free version. Reduced-fat cream cheese can be used for a tangier topping. Best served with a sprinkle of cinnamon or drizzled caramel.
