Delicious soft pretzel bites that are perfect for snacking, ideal for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups warm milk (or water, around 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 9 cups water
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg (mixed with 1 tablespoon of water)

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, milk, butter, and salt. Mix with a dough hook on medium speed for about 4-5 minutes until a smooth dough forms.
  2. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. Bring the water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
  6. Divide the dough into 12 pieces. Roll each into a ¾-inch rope and cut into 1-2 inch bites.
  7. Drop the bites into boiling water for 30 seconds, then transfer to the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Leave a little space between each one. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with salt.
  9. Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown. Serve with honey mustard!

Notes

For extra flavor, add garlic powder or cheese to the dough. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
