Delightful pumpkin-shaped cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting, perfect for fall celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, activate the yeast by mixing it with warm milk and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, pumpkin puree, melted butter, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Add the activated yeast mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread additional melted butter on top and sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over it.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Shape each piece into a pumpkin by twisting the roll and placing a piece of green candy or a dough ball on top for the stem.
  10. Place shaped rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Let cool slightly before drizzling with cream cheese frosting.
