A quick and easy weeknight meal featuring pasta tossed with honey garlic sausage in a sticky glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or penne)
  • 1 lb sausage, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Swirl the oil to coat the pan.
  3. Add the sliced sausage in a single layer and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Push the sausage to the side, add the minced garlic to the empty space, and sauté for about 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Combine honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the skillet and stir, scraping any browned bits from the bottom.
  6. Let the sauce bubble gently for 1 to 2 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. Return the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through for a minute or two.
  8. Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free pasta and substitute tamari for soy sauce.
