A one-pan, weeknight-friendly pasta dish featuring tender pasta, browned sausage, and a glossy honey-soy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (any shape)
  • 1 lb sausage, sliced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Warm it until it shimmers.
  3. Add the sliced sausage in a single layer. Let it brown without moving too much for about 5 to 7 minutes total.
  4. Push the sausage to the side and add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the honey and soy sauce. Stir and let it bubble gently for a minute.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss or stir until the pasta is evenly coated. If the sauce seems too thick, splash in 1 to 2 tablespoons of reserved pasta water.
  7. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot, sprinkled with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Tip: Use gluten-free pasta and tamari for a gluten-free version. For less sweetness, reduce honey to 2 tablespoons and add a splash of vinegar or lemon juice.
