A delightful dessert that perfectly combines rich chocolate and fresh strawberries, ideal for any occasion.

  • 500 g strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 50 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 190 g all-purpose flour
  • 75 g natural cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 115 g unsalted butter (melted)
  • 100 g light-tasting oil
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 330 g milk (room temperature)
  • 250 g cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
  • 115 g unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 70 g strawberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 200 g strawberries (finely diced)
  • 7 strawberries (halved for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Strawberry Jam: In a saucepan, mix strawberries, 50 g sugar, and water. Cook on medium heat until strawberries break down, about 10 minutes. Let cool and set aside.
  2. Chocolate Cake: Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, combine melted butter, oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Mix until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients and milk. Pour batter into greased cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
  3. Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting: In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, strawberry jam, and vanilla extract. Mix well and fold in finely diced strawberries.
  4. Assemble the Cake: Place one layer of chocolate cake on a serving plate. Spread frosting on top. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the sides and top. Decorate with halved strawberries.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and line cake pans with parchment paper.
