A warm and comforting chili packed with flavors and textures, easy to make for busy weeknights or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 23 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Toppings: Shredded cheese, sour cream, green onions, avocado slices, tortilla chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients and chop the veggies.
  2. In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it’s browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onions, green pepper, and garlic to the pot. Cook until soft.
  4. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for a minute to release flavors.
  5. Mix in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth. Stir well.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  7. Stir in the kidney and pinto beans. Cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. Adjust seasoning and spices based on your preference.
  9. Serve hot with toppings of your choice.
