A simple and customizable dish featuring creamy mashed avocado on toasted bread, perfect for quick breakfasts or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough, whole grain, or your choice)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Lemon juice, optional
  • Toppings of choice: sliced cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced radishes, crumbled feta, a poached egg, chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden brown and crisp.
  2. Halve and pit the avocados. Scoop the flesh into a bowl and mash with a fork until mostly smooth but still a bit chunky.
  3. Season the avocado with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
  4. Spread the seasoned avocado evenly over each slice of toasted bread.
  5. Add your favorite toppings.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

For extra creaminess, add a teaspoon of olive oil when mashing. Use gluten-free bread for a gluten-free option.
