A classic and delightful dessert featuring fresh strawberries, fluffy biscuits, and whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Toss sliced strawberries with sugar and set aside to macerate.
  2. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in milk until just combined.
  5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to 3/4 inch thickness and cut out rounds.
  6. Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
  7. Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form, then add powdered sugar and vanilla.

Notes

Use cold butter for flakier biscuits. Allow strawberries to macerate for at least 30 minutes for enhanced sweetness.
