Quick and comforting wraps filled with tender shredded chicken, garlic, and gooey cheese, perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded cheese, cheddar or mozzarella (or a mix)
  • 4 large tortillas
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish, optional (parsley, cilantro, or chives)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the shredded chicken to the skillet. Sprinkle the garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper. Stir and cook until the chicken is heated through, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Lay the tortillas flat and divide the warm chicken mixture evenly among them, placing the filling in a line toward one side of each tortilla.
  4. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of shredded cheese over the chicken in each tortilla.
  5. Roll each tortilla tightly and press the seam to seal. Place each wrap seam-side down in the skillet.
  6. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side over medium heat, pressing gently, until the exterior is golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.
  7. Remove the wraps from the skillet, slice in half on the diagonal, and garnish with fresh herbs if you like. Serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, use a whole-wheat wrap. Pre-shredded cheese is convenient, or grate from a block for better melt. Stir in yogurt or mayonnaise for additional flavor.
