Tender, spiced chicken wraps served with a tangy garlic-yogurt sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners and meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (for the sauce)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (Greek or regular)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Pitas or flatbreads for serving
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine olive oil, cumin, paprika, turmeric, coriander, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl until a paste forms.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and coat them evenly. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate up to overnight for deeper flavor.
  3. Preheat a grill or a heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Lightly oil the surface.
  4. Place the chicken on the hot surface and cook 6 to 7 minutes per side, until golden-brown exterior and no pink inside (internal temperature reaches 165°F).
  5. While the chicken rests, make the garlic sauce by whisking together minced garlic, yogurt, and lemon juice in a small bowl. Taste and adjust salt as needed.
  6. Let the cooked chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice it thin. Serve in warmed pitas or flatbreads with garlic sauce and garnishes.

Notes

For a smoky flavor, finish the chicken briefly over the hottest part of the grill. Marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes for surface flavor; overnight is best.
