Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Roll-Ups are a fabulous breakfast treat that brings a fun twist to a classic dish, transforming slices of bread into sweet, cinnamon-spiced delights.

  • 6 slices of bread (white or brioche)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Create the cinnamon sugar mixture by combining granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract in a shallow dish until smooth.
  3. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
  4. Spread melted butter over each slice, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  5. Roll each slice tightly, pinching the ends to seal.
  6. Dip each roll in the egg mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  7. Cook in a skillet over medium heat with melted butter, placing the roll-ups in the skillet.
  8. Cook each roll for about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better texture. Experiment with different types of bread to enhance flavor.
