A quick and comforting creamy garlic Parmesan chicken dish perfect for busy weeknights, featuring tender seared chicken in a silky garlic-Parmesan sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice each chicken breast horizontally or pound to an even thickness about 1/2 inch.
  2. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the chicken and sear until golden and cooked through, about 4 to 5 minutes per side depending on thickness.
  5. Remove the chicken to a plate and tent loosely with foil.
  6. Lower the heat to medium-low and add the butter to the skillet.
  7. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 to 60 seconds.
  8. Pour in the heavy cream and stir, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  9. Stir in the grated Parmesan until it melts and the sauce thickens slightly, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  10. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer gently for 2 to 3 minutes to heat through and meld flavors.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter sauce, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 to 4 days.
