A restaurant-quality dish featuring succulent shrimp in a rich garlic cream sauce served over fluffy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return them to the pot.
  2. Add milk and sour cream to the drained potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, approximately 4-5 minutes.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat for about 3-5 minutes, thickening slightly.

Notes

Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor. Avoid overcooking the shrimp and adjust the mashed potato consistency with more milk or sour cream.
