A delicious weeknight dinner featuring crispy chicken coated in cornflakes with a sweet and spicy hot honey sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces Chicken Breasts
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 0.5 tbsp Nonstick Cooking Spray
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 0.5 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Hot Sauce
  • 4 cups Cornflakes
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tsp Seasoning Mix
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Additional Hot Sauce
  • 4 tbsp Butter
  • 0.25 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Crush the cornflakes into small pieces using a food processor or rolling pin.
  3. Set up three shallow bowls: one for the flour and brown sugar mixture, one for the whisked eggs with hot sauce, and a third for the crushed cornflake mixture.
  4. Prepare the chicken by slicing and tenderizing it to a uniform thickness.
  5. Season the chicken with salt and black pepper. Then, coat each piece in the flour mixture, dip it in the egg wash, and roll it in the cornflake mixture.
  6. Arrange the coated chicken pieces on a greased baking sheet and spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 15-16 minutes until the chicken is golden brown and has an internal temperature of at least 165°F.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider double-coating the chicken. Use fresh spices for the best flavor.
