  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Flaked sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of flaked sea salt atop each cookie.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden and centers remain soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
