Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup salted butter (or unsalted with a pinch of salt)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (or frozen, drained well)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream (or milk for lighter texture)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9”x9” baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter until smooth and uniform.
  4. Add the dry mixture into the butter, stirring until you get a crumbly texture.
  5. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is lightly golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  8. While cooling, slice the strawberries and combine them with vanilla extract.
  9. In a separate bowl, beat together the powdered sugar and cream until smooth.
  10. Once the base has cooled, spread the cream mixture over the crust and top with the strawberries.

Notes

Use fresh strawberries for best flavor. Adjust powdered sugar to taste for a sweeter topping.
