An easy and flavorful recipe for pulled chicken drenched in barbecue sauce, perfect for sandwiches or salads.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, with fat trimmed off
  • 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken at the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Combine the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a medium bowl.
  5. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken breasts.
  7. Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 150–180 minutes or low for 300–360 minutes.
  8. Check with a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F.
  9. Shred the chicken in the crockpot to absorb the extra sauce.

Notes

Optionally, add hot sauce for a spicier dish or use different sauces for flavor variety.
