Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  3. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat, then add a little butter.
  4. Dip each half of the Hawaiian rolls into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak briefly.
  5. Place the soaked rolls on the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Notes

Use slightly stale Hawaiian rolls for better absorption of the egg mixture. Adjust sugar levels to taste and experiment with spices.
