A quick and satisfying one-pan meal with ground beef, tender cabbage, and simple spices, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped (about 68 cups)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Push the aromatics to the side and add the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until no longer pink and nicely browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if desired.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage, ground cumin, paprika, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well so the spices coat the meat and cabbage.
  5. Cover the skillet and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage has softened but still has some texture.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot.

Notes

Use a medium or sweet onion for milder flavor. If your cabbage is large, trim and use only part of it, or increase beef for a meatier skillet.
