A quick and comforting one-pan skillet dinner featuring seasoned ground beef, crisp-tender broccoli, and creamy cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets (about 1 small head)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Add the ground beef and break it into small crumbles with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  3. Push the browned beef to one side of the skillet. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the empty space. Cook for about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the broccoli florets and sauté for a minute.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir thoroughly.
  6. Cover the skillet with a lid and let cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. Reduce the heat to low. Pour in the heavy cream and stir, scraping up browned bits from the pan.
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar over the beef and broccoli. Cover again and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  9. Add Worcestershire sauce and red pepper flakes if using, and give one final gentle stir.
  10. Remove the skillet from the heat and serve hot.
