A quick and savory Korean Ground Beef Bowl that’s perfect for busy weeknights, delivering big flavors in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or any preferred grain)
  • Optional toppings: sliced green onions, sesame seeds, steamed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, or snap peas)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat until hot. Add the ground beef and break it up with a spatula. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is evenly browned and there is no pink remaining, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  2. Push the beef to one side of the skillet or reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring, until fragrant but not burned.
  3. Stir the garlic and ginger into the beef. Pour in the soy sauce and stir so it coats the meat. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes so the flavors meld and any excess liquid reduces slightly.
  4. Fluff the cooked rice and divide it into bowls. Spoon the beef mixture over the rice in even portions.
  5. Garnish each bowl with sliced green onions, a sprinkle of sesame seeds, and steamed vegetables if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with additional sides like cucumber salad, kimchi, or miso soup. For a vibrant twist, add chili paste for spice or substitute half the beef with vegetables.
