A savory, tangy chicken dish slow-cooked with ranch seasoning, au jus gravy mix, and pepperoncini, perfect for easy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 to 4 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs (about 4 to 6 pieces)
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix (about 1 ounce)
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix (about 1 ounce)
  • 8 to 12 pepperoncini peppers (whole), plus a few tablespoons of juice for extra tang if desired
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (cut into pats)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the bottom of a slow cooker in a single layer.
  2. Evenly sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and the au jus gravy mix over the chicken. Gently pat to help the powders adhere.
  3. Arrange the pepperoncini peppers on top of the chicken. Spoon a few pepperoncini juice tablespoons over if you want more tang. Top with the butter pats.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  5. Remove the lid, shred the chicken with two forks or a hand mixer, and mix it thoroughly with the sauce before serving. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

Use thighs for more fat and flavor, breasts for leaner meat. For a creamier finish, stir in 4 ounces of cream cheese at the end for a richer sauce.
