A wonderfully simple dessert that features fresh strawberries and a creamy filling without any baking required.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package of shortcake or pound cake, crumbled or sliced
  • Optional: mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until combined.
  4. In a serving dish, layer the crumbled shortcake, sliced strawberries, and cream mixture.
  5. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with the cream on top.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality strawberries for the best flavor. It can be assembled a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator.
