A classic dish combining tender chicken with marinara sauce and melted cheese, perfect for weeknight dinners or impressing guests.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, and brown the chicken on both sides for about 3-4 minutes each.
  5. Place the browned chicken in a baking dish.
  6. Pour marinara sauce over each piece, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through with an internal temperature of 165°F.

Notes

For a crispier topping, broil the chicken for the last few minutes of baking. Use freshly grated Parmesan for better flavor.
