A simple and flavorful sheet-pan chicken dish featuring crispy, saucy chicken thighs that cooks in under an hour.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • Onion powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Position a rack in the center.
  2. Pat chicken thighs very dry with paper towels.
  3. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic and onion powder if using.
  4. Drizzle the oven-safe dish with olive oil and arrange the thighs skin-side up.
  5. Spoon or pour the barbecue sauce over each thigh, coating well.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  7. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes for extra crispness, watching closely.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For reduced-sodium options, choose a lower-salt sauce. Boneless thighs work too but reduce baking time by about 10 minutes. For cleaning ease, line the dish with foil or parchment.
