A creamy, hands-off Crock Pot recipe featuring tender chicken simmered in a flavorful ranch sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 2 tablespoons homemade ranch blend)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by patting it dry with paper towels and seasoning lightly with salt and pepper. Arrange the pieces in a single layer in the bottom of the Crock Pot.
  2. Make the sauce by whisking together ranch seasoning, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Combine the sauce with the chicken, ensuring each piece is coated. If using vegetables, tuck them under the chicken.
  4. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours. Do not lift the lid during cooking.
  5. Optional finishing touches: During the last 10 to 15 minutes, sprinkle cheddar over the chicken and cover to let it melt. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives before serving.
  6. Serve the chicken over rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

If using chicken thighs, reduce the high heat cook time by about 15 minutes. Homemade ranch is fresher but adjust salt accordingly.
