Delicious and comforting cheesy meatball subs featuring moist beef meatballs, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese in toasted hoagie rolls.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil for toasting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  3. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for about 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  4. In a saucepan, heat marinara sauce and add the baked meatballs, coating them in the sauce.
  5. Slice the hoagie rolls and lightly brush with olive oil. Toast them in the oven until golden.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding Italian herbs to the meatball mixture or using a mix of cheeses for topping.
