A quick, sweet, and savory honey garlic ground turkey dish that comes together in about 25 minutes, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey (extra-lean)
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes, to taste
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (like canola or avocado)

Instructions

  1. Prep by mincing garlic and slicing green onions. Combine honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with neutral oil until shimmering.
  3. Add ground turkey, browning for 2 minutes undisturbed, then cook until no pink remains (about 5 to 7 minutes).
  4. Push turkey to one side, add minced garlic to the empty space for 20 to 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Mix garlic into turkey and pour honey-soy mixture over it, stirring for 2 to 3 minutes to coat and reduce.
  6. Add sesame oil and red pepper flakes if using, taste and adjust seasoning.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with green onions, and let sit for a minute to thicken the glaze.

Notes

Adjust soy sauce to taste, especially if not using low-sodium soy sauce. If the glaze is too thin, simmer off the meat to thicken it.
