A quick and easy sweet-and-savory glazed salmon recipe that delivers restaurant-quality flavor in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (6-ounce fillets for even cooking)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (use gluten-free tamari if needed)
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped for garnish; dried can stand in)

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry and season both sides with garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika if using. Let rest at room temperature for about 5 minutes.
  2. Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, melted butter, and honey until smooth.
  3. Warm a nonstick or stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat with a teaspoon of oil, or preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
  4. Place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4 to 5 minutes without moving to crisp the skin; flip and cook for another 2 to 4 minutes, or roast skin-side down for 8 to 12 minutes in the oven.
  5. Spoon or brush the glaze over the salmon in the last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking. For extra caramelization, move under a hot broiler for 30 to 60 seconds.
  6. Transfer to a plate, let rest for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

For gluten-free, swap soy sauce for tamari. Ensure the salmon reaches at least 145°F for safety.
