A creamy, tangy honey mustard sauce coats tender slow-cooked chicken, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard (or Dijon mustard)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (or soy sauce)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter, melted (or olive oil)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano (or Italian seasoning)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or dairy-free cream)

Instructions

  1. Arrange the chicken breasts in an even layer in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 to 40 seconds.
  3. Whisk together melted butter, honey, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken, spooning some sauce over each piece.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream.
  7. Shred the chicken in the cooker using two forks.
  8. Let the chicken rest in the sauce for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, replace the butter with olive oil and use non-dairy cream. Optional searing of chicken before cooking adds depth of flavor.
